Holiday villas can be the stuff of dreams. Who doesn't dream of a beautiful villa in Italy or Greece for enjoyable family holidays. Holiday villas come in different shapes and sizes. You can find detached holiday villas with pools. Some of which have secluded gardens, others of which have small courtyard areas. There are also a number of villa developments where you can find terraced holiday villas, all centred around central facilities, some of which have swimming pools.
Traditional holiday hot spots for villa holidays include Greece, Spain, Turkey, Italy and Portugal. Eastern European destinations are also possibilities though for villa holidays and it is possible to find villas to rent in Croatia and Poland. For typical holiday villas though these tend to be found in Meditteranean countries.
The type of villa that you are searching for may depend on your group's size, preferences and budget. As a general rule, larger, more secluded properties are more expensive to rent than those on a complex. It can very much depend though on the owner of the property and on the area you choose to holiday in. Some areas are much more competitively priced than others. You may well find that villas in Eastern Europe and countries outside the Eurozone are much more competitively priced as a general rule for Brits. The strength of the Euro against the pound, at the time of writing in 2011, means that many European countries are expensive currently for the British to holiday in. If you are searching for a summer sunshine destination then you may want to consider options such as Turkey, Poland, the Czech republic or Croatia.
You can find holiday villas usually out in the countryside. Self catering accommodation in cities in towns tends to be in the form of apartments or cottages. Holiday villas tend to be in more relaxed country locations. Location can be very important when it comes to finding the right villa holiday so do remember to check out details of villas to rent carefully before making any booking.
Due to the difficulties with taking pets abroad, finding a pet friendly villa is not usually a consideration. For holidays abroad, there are strict rules about taking pets in and out of countries, it is usually best therefore to find someone to take care of your pet whilst you are away or to put your dog in kennels or your cat in a cattery. Although it is sad to leave them behind, just think of the welcome you should get on your return from your travels.
